This page aims to provide
the reader with a brief overview of our staff training services.
Since 1st October 2006, the
Regulatory Reform
(Fire Safety) Order 2005 (“Fire Safety Order”) (for England & Wales) and the
Fire
Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 and the
Fire (Scotland) Act 2005
(for Scotland) have been in effect imposing drastic changes to the
regulatory regime for fire safety.
Both sets of the legislation above require the legal duty holder (or
a third party(ies))
to ensure that fire safety training for all employees is:
- adequate, suitable and sufficient1;
- provided to employees on starting2;
- provided where there are new or increased risks3;
and
- repeated “periodically” where appropriate4.
Additionally, the legislation also requires that competent persons
are nominated to “take
measures for fire-fighting” and that they are
adequately trained5. Persons in
these roles are often appropriately trained competent employees and
are often referred to as ‘fire
marshals’ or ‘fire wardens’.
Further information on legislation may be found
here.
Anderstore are able to provide all the fire-safety training needed by your staff to help
ensure their safety along with that of your property and business and to help
ensure compliance with legislation, insurance requirements, etc.
Our core training module is typically applicable for all staff and covers
the key points of training identified in
governmental guidance. This includes:
- Fire-Safety Risks;
- Fire-Safety Legislation;
- Fundamental Approach to Fire-Safety;
- Preparation – Emergency Escape Routes;
- Preparation – Actions to Take;
- Prevention of Fires;
- Records & Documentation;
- What to do on hearing the Fire Alarm; and
- Fire Action!
Please contact us to discuss pricing, make
arrangements or if there is anything else we may assist with.
In addition to the core training module, Anderstore are able to
provide standard add-on training modules to supplement the core training
in order to satisfy your particular needs, including any additional
requirements of your
fire risk assessment.
Our current add-on training modules include:
- Use of Fire Extinguisher Module;
- Fire Marshals’/Wardens’ Module;
- Fire Drills & Evacuation Module; and
- Legal Duty Holders’ Module
Completion of the core module is a prerequisite for all of the above
modules.
Please contact us if this is an area you
would like to discuss.
At Anderstore we recognise that your
fire risk assessment might require some specialised training not
covered in the core training or add-on modules - training needs can be
as individual as your risk assessment, your building, your business and
your people and partners.
We can work with you to develop individually tailored training
packages to suit your needs. Please contact us if this is an area you
would like to discuss.
