We are seeking applicants who, if successful and after appropriate
training, will provide high-quality fire protection consultancy and services,
predominantly at our customers’ sites. In particular, this will include fire-safety risk assessments, staff fire training and
fire-alarm and emergency lighting surveys.
Consistent with our varied accreditations, we have a very strong focus
on quality and seek to ensure that all our services are conducted to the
highest standards and in accordance with the relevant British Standards,
Publicly Available Specifications, legislation, etc. including:
This is a challenging and developing position. As such, successful candidates will be
proactive in the enlargement of this side of our business
and will contribute to the development of both this position and the Company
in general.
In line with
both the role’s title and with our focus on quality, the successful
candidates must meet the
competency requirements laid out in BSI’s
PAS 79:2007 Fire Risk Assessment -
Guidance and a Recommended Methodology. It follows,
therefore, that the successful candidate will have an appropriate combination of
one or more of the following:

a qualification from an appropriately accredited trade course;
-
a degree, Higher National Certificate or Diploma in a relevant/accredited
subject;
-
considerable experience in carrying out fire risk assessments;
-
be a
member of the IFE (or other
comparable body);
-
considerable relevant work
experience (e.g. senior fire officer, fire prevention officer, etc.);
and/or
-
a very
good familiarity with the some of the above standards, legislation, etc.,
especially PAS 79 and the
Fire Safety Order.
Additionally, it will be self-evident from the successful applicants’
presentation and/or CV that they:
- are
very confident in dealing with customers
at all levels throughout an
organisation;
- effectively present a very
professional image;
- have excellent oral and written communication skills; and
- have the ability to make their
recommendations in a persuasive manner.
As travelling is an inherent part of the role, the successful Applicants must possess a current full valid UK driving
licence. Ideally, this should also be clean.
Training and further accreditation will take place
as appropriate, dependant upon the candidate’s current abilities,
qualifications, etc.
The package offered is very competitive, but will of course depend upon the
candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, memberships, etc.
At the time of writing, the Company offers an excellent holiday package starting at 28 days, and increasing to 38 days after length of service. This holiday entitlement is inclusive of bank and public holidays.
