Anderstore takes quality very seriously indeed, as our various accreditation, certification and the like help show. However, we also firmly believe that it is right to seek to improve things on a much wider basis too.

We therefore takes a very keen interest in the continual improvement in standards, quality and the general development of the trade as a whole.

To this end, we and/or our staff are:

• a Member of the FSH2 and FSH11 Committees of the British Standards Institute. FSH2 is directly responsible for the authoring of BS 5306 part 3, the British Standard relating to the commissioning and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers;
  
• a representative of the British Standards Institute at the European level (TC70 working group 7);
• a FIA Council member;
• a FIA Board director;
• a former Chair of the Servicing Sectoral Committee of FIA;
• a representative of the FIA at the European level (Eurofeu);
• a Liaison between FIA and CFOA (the Chief Fire Officers’ Association);
• a Liaison between FIA and IFEDA (another trade association);
• a BAFE Council member;
• involved in the development and merging of BAFE schemes including SP101 and ST104.
• a former FETA vice-chairman (FETA is now effectively a part of the FIA);
• a member of the group consulted by the UK Government’s Department for Communities and Local Government’s (now renamed Communities and Local Government) regarding what was at that stage their draft legislative proposals, which subsequently went on to become the Fire Safety Order;
