There is no legal requirement to offer either competitive prices, nor to offer any form of price promise. The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended)
legislates that agreed prices are binding. The whole raft of contractual
law further reinforces this.
In short, it is up to the buyer to ensure value. With most companies in this trade - if you’ve agreed the price, you pay the price - irrespective!
