Directive (“the PED” 97/23/EC))
The PER implemented the PED in the UK and entered fully into force on 29
November 1999. The PER were amended in two respects by the Pressure
Equipment (Amendment) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/1267) with effect from 30
May 2002.
Whilst such matters are rarely simple, broadly speaking, the PER
introduced compulsory CE marking of new
extinguishers. In light of the particular complexities with the PER, the
