The precise format of our
induction training will vary dependant upon many factors such as
geography, timing, availability of trade examinations (where applicable), availability of
company resources and, not least, the particular strengths and
weaknesses of the individual candidate. Below, however, follows a fairly
typical template.
There will be a relatively brief and informal period of induction
giving an overview of the Company, the employee’s peers, line-management, health
& safety, etc.
Additional introductions will also be made to office staff and other
business activities dependant upon location. This training may take
place at various locations across Great Britain, although some will typically
take place near the employee’s own
territory.
The nature of this role is that employees will be largely ready-to-go
from the outset. With this in mind, by no later than the second week,
in-the-field accompanied work will begin. During this two-week or so
period, the employee will start by spending time accompanied by a
manager. As time goes on, the employee will increasingly spend days
unaccompanied with this becoming the norm by the end of that time.
At the end of this period, initial training will be largely complete
and the employee will be expected to be a productive self-managing
member of staff. Needless to say, however, we always provide a layer of
support and are always on hand during any period of employment,
including in these early stages.
Of course, careful mentoring and management will be provided
throughout the employment.
During the first few months, the Company will review progress,
ascertain the employee’s various particular strengths and seek to
improve on any areas in need of development. The role will be tailored
accordingly.
Additionally, after this time, the Company will also conduct a
careful review of the employee’s trade specific training, certification
and qualifications. Consideration at that time will be given as to any
further appropriate qualification that may be required or are deemed
desirable. This will depend up on the needs of the Company and the
strengths of the employee.
Training
is of course ongoing and, depending upon the training, certification and
qualifications deemed appropriate, there may be additional requirements to sit refresher courses and examinations periodically. Further training and examination requirements may develop as the trade,
the Group and its staff all develop.
