The Fire
Industry Confederation (“FIC”) was a confederation
of the four leading UK active fire protection trade associations (BAFSA,
BFPSA, FETA and
FIRESA).The
FIC no longer exists following the formation of the
Fire Industry Association (“FIA”) on 1st April 2007.
The FIC had previously said that the above four trade associations
(i.e. BAFSA,
BFPSA, FETA and
FIRESA) “collectively represent over 90% of the £1 billion UK Fire Protection
Market. All recognise the benefit of being able to speak, strategically,
with one voice on matters of common interest affecting the whole of the
Industry” (taken from their profile on their then website).
As mentioned, the FIC was a confederation of fire protection trade
associations. Accordingly, only such associations could become members.
