The British
Fire Protection Systems Association (“BFPSA”), merged with the
Fire Extinguishing Trades Association (“FETA”)
on 1st April 2007 to form a single large trade association, the
Fire Industry Association (“FIA”).The BFPSA
was a trade association
that “represent[ed] 95% of UK manufacturers and installers of Fire Alarm
and Fixed Gaseous Extinguishing systems” and “[was] recognised as the
co-ordinating body for the UK fire systems industry and [was] the leading trade association in its field in Europe”.
The BFPSA was a member of the confederation FIC.

Please note that whilst the BFPSA has representation in the area of
fixed extinguisher systems, automatic water sprinkler systems is an area
represented by BAFSA.
